The Edge Question

What is the author's viewpoint on life in "The Edge is Where I Want to Be?" Use examples from text to prove your answer.

I think the author's viewpoint on life, using an example from the text would be something about the "Limit" Of everything.
The author says "The edge is a cliff you've dangled from in a hundred nightmares." It sounds like the edge is the limit, where you cant go any more and where everything finally stops. Theres also the "Mushy Middle" where you live without the edge. The author comes back and makes a final statement later on "Quit your job, quit smoking, quit whining leave that jerk, write that poem, go dancing, get sober, take a road trip-a dare-a spin-a lover-a change honey, break down and cry if that's what it takes then pick your butt up and for all your're worth run don't walk to the edge."

Of Mice And Men Ch.1

Today we just finished reading Of mice and men, Chapter 1. So far its about two wanderers named Lennie, George. Lennie is Huge but kind of stupid and he forgets things easily. George on the otherhand is the brains of the group and somehow gets them out of every situation they seem to get into. At the start of the book they are both walking back from a job they just did at a ranch. They settle down and they both start to talk about the job and discussed what the plan was for their next day. After a while George seems to see Lennie pull somthing out of his pocket. It turns out to be a mouse, A Dead one too. Lennie was stroking it and had to give it up to George who then threw it out somewhere in the brush. They begin walking a bit more and come to a site where a fire previously had been. George orders Lennie to get firewood, Which he reculantly does. A while later Lennie returns with a small stick, His feet wet. George knows that Lennie crossed the river to look for the mouse he threw, So he orders Lennie to give it up. After a while of discussion and agreements the mouse is no more. A Couple minutes later George starts ranting about how his life would be without Lennie. Poor Lennie says he might just go live in a cave if George doesnt want him. George says that he needed Lennie, Its just that he went ahead and did whatever he want and come up with lame excuses. As George starts ranting again he just decides to leave it at that, He opens two cans of beans with his knife then gives Lennie a spoon and they both go ahead and eat.

The animals have a leader named old major. He says he had a dream of the coming rebelion and that they would be free soon or in a hundred years. They all think that the rebelion is coming but when not knowing when one may lose hope of what is to come.
